With Gratitude, Not Goodbye
With full hearts and immense gratitude, we have made the difficult but positive decision to dissolve the 4 Jake’s Sake Charitable Foundation.
4 Jake’s Sake began with Jake attending MDA Camp. He saw the challenges other families living with Duchenne faced and felt strongly that he needed to help. From that simple wish grew a mission to help individuals and families living with Duchenne make their homes and everyday lives more accessible.
Because of the generosity of our donors, volunteers, friends, and family, we were able to help many families along the way. We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished together.
Today, there are more wonderful organizations and foundations available to help families in the Duchenne community. At the same time, running a nonprofit requires an incredible amount of time and commitment, and our volunteers are balancing full-time jobs, families, and their own lives. We simply cannot continue to give 4 Jake’s Sake the time it deserves.
So we choose to close this chapter not with sadness, but with happiness for the families we were able to help.
To everyone who donated, volunteered, supported us, or believed in Jake’s mission—thank you. You helped turn one family’s desire to help into something that made a real difference.
We will always be grateful for the families we met, the lives we touched, and the memories we made.
This isn’t goodbye to the mission. It’s simply the end of our chapter.
